2006, The Year of the Deere!

For our 32 Annual Show, in 2006, MMOGTA celebrated the most enduring name in Agricultural Mechanization, “John Deere”. Enthusiasts from near and far brought their prized collections for all to enjoy. Spectators were treated to such sights as 2 Spoker “D”’s belted in tandem to our sawmill, and an all John Deere tractor pull, provided by our friends from the Saginaw Valley Two-Cylinder club. Rare and unusual items seemed commonplace all around the Featured Brand area. Reknowned artist Charles Freitag toiled away with paintbrush and easel the whole weekend in midst of the noise and the smoke as an endless stream of visitors stopped to watch. The Bollinger family Waterloo Boy exhibits, as well as their fireworks display, brought a chorus of “ooh’s and ahh’s” from an appreciative crowd. That famous “Putt-Putt” sound seemed to echo from every corner of the grounds. In 2006, the “Long Green Line” led straight to Oakley MI. Have a look at a few representative photos below:
