The contents of the “Weekly Feature” page are provided to you for your entertainment, amusement, and perhaps information. Here you may find articles of interest, pictures, historical information on the Club, or whatever shuffles to the top of the pile on our desk. The only defined characteristic of this space is that we will make every effort to change/replace it around the middle of each week. Thank you for visiting, and please stop by again. Point A to Point B

Even though the season is rapidly winding down, a true tractor enthusiast always has a hard time slamming that barn door shut for the year. We all know just how long the Michigan winter is, and how soon it will be upon us.

These are the motivational components that caused a bunch of local folks to hit the road one last time on October 15th for the second annual Aldrich Tractor Ride. Last year we hit the jackpot with a 70 degree day, this year the odds caught up just a bit. To paraphrase a popular saying, “A bad day tractor riding is still better than a good day at work”, so despite cloudy, misty skies and temps in the cool range, some 2 dozen riders showed up and enjoyed the last ride for the year. The tour took them from the Aldrich household west of Owosso to the MMOGTA Showgrounds, where pizza and snacks were enjoyed by all. The autumn foliage provided an attractive backdrop along the backroad journey, as well as at the Oakley lunch break. A different series of country roads then led them back to Owosso.

Coats, hats, gloves, and smiles were the order of the day, and even though the sun didn’t shine, the tractors did, and the day was enjoyed by all who participated. No, Max Armstrong didn’t make this one either, but Jim Aldrich did, and he’s almost as famous in these parts. By the same token, Oakley is apparently a little too “rural” for RFD TV, so we’ll just have to make do with a few photos gathered by an apprentice with the MMOGTA Publishing Complex.
