ESCORTED

In a surprise move, two senior staffers at the MMOGTA Publishing Complex were “Escorted” out of Michigan on a recent sunny Saturday, with little ceremony, and even less regret. Despite speculation to the contrary, it was not a local version of the Bernie Mahdoff story, and, yes, the Fergus Municipal Treasury is still very much intact, secured as it is at the nearby Military Outpost known as “Fort Box”. Rather, the whole excursion (another Ford reference) was more likely an instinctive response to a stubborn case of Cabin Fever, an ailment native to the Michigan region. The coincidence of a rare sunny Saturday, and in indoor tractor show within the fuel range of the miserly Escort, was simply more temptation than they could resist. The destination, of course, the Annual Kruse Indoor Winter Tractor Show, featuring J.I. Case products, at Auburn IN. All’s well that ends well, they say, and sunset would find the tired, penniless pair back in familiar territory, just in time to put their feet up, their guard down, and their time cards back in the rack. All in a day’s work.
