The contents of the “Weekly Feature” page are provided to you for your entertainment, amusement, and perhaps information. Here you may find articles of interest, pictures, historical information on the Club, or whatever shuffles to the top of the pile on our desk. The only defined characteristic of this space is that we will make every effort to change/replace it around the middle of each week. Thank you for visiting, and please stop by again. The 8th Month

No, this isn’t a story about pregnancy, but it is a little similar to an impending birth. The MMOGTA is a big, busy organization, all throughout the year, but obviously, there is one month that stands out from the other eleven in our world, and that would be August, the eighth one. That’s the month where we all realize there is no “later” that we can put things off until. A time for impatience, shortened tempers, hastened paces, and focused efforts. One of our Fearless Leaders is famous for the quote, “If it wasn’t for the last minute, nothing would ever get done”. Well, that minute is finally at hand. Time to tee it up and swing. The Showgrounds will be a beehive for the next few weeks as final preparations are made for the “Big Show”, and it will be a big one this year, as we feature the ever-popular Farmall, McCormick-Deering, International Harvester line of products.

As always, visitors to this year’s show will be eager to see what’s new in Oakley for 2009, and they won’t be disappointed. Major changes are in the works in the Steam Barn, there’s a new building in the lumber and sawmill area, a gigantic new engine in the stationary engine area, a big Titan tractor recently returned to this country after a lengthy career in Australia, and much more. As an additional bonus, this year folks will be able to attend both our show AND the show in Buckley, (one week prior to ours) since the calendar allowed us different dates for 2009. Should work out well for all involved, and the major beneficiaries will be the folks that enjoy visiting these shows. For those who may not have had an opportunity to visit us in the past, please look through the “2008 Show photos” link on the home page, and enjoy these additional views below, also from last year. Hope you can join us in 2009 for the “Red Power Reunion”.
